Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions for Travel Trade & Group Organisers
Who do you work with?
We work with tour operators, coach companies, group travel organisers and travel advisors arranging visits to Conwy and North Wales. We are happy to help with both one off group bookings and ongoing programmes.
How do you price your tours for groups?
We charge per group, not per person. As a guide, a 1½ hour tour is from £150 per group and a full day tour is from £350 per group, depending on your exact requirements and timings.
How do we pay you?
For operators we have not worked with before, we ask for payment in advance. We can provide our bank details for a transfer or send a Stripe payment link so you can pay securely online. For returning partners we can agree simple payment terms that work for both sides.
What are your payment and cancellation terms?
For new operators, payment is due in advance by bank transfer or Stripe. Our cancellation terms follow the standard conditions published on the Wales Best Guides and Britain’s Best Guides profession guides organisation websites. We are happy to point you to the current wording if you need a copy for your records.
What group sizes can you handle?
Maximum group size depends on the venue and style of tour. In Conwy Castle we can usually take up to around 20 people per group. For town tours the maximum is normally 12, or up to 25 if you provide a quiet box or whisper transmission system.
How do we make an initial enquiry?
Email or phone with your preferred date, approximate group size, start and finish times, and any particular interests. We will come back with suggested tour options, timings and a price for your group.
Can you tailor tours to our itinerary or theme?
Yes and we love to do so! We can adjust start points, timings and content to fit your programme, and build in themes such as history, culture, gentle walking or more active exploring. Tell us what your clients enjoy and we will shape the tour around them.
Do you provide step on guiding for coaches?
We can meet your coach at an agreed point and join you as a step on guide in and around Snowdonia (Eryi) and Anglesey (Môn). We will work with you on timings, drop off points and any access considerations for your vehicle.
What about accessibility and walking levels?
Most of our town and coastal routes involve gentle walking, with regular stops for commentary. If you have travellers with limited mobility or other needs, please tell us in advance so we can suggest the most suitable routes and adapt the pace.
How far in advance should we book?
For groups and trade partners, early booking is recommended, especially in busy periods, but do contact us with late enquiries too. If we have a guide free, we will always try to help.
What information do you need before the tour?
Before the day we ask for final numbers, any mobility or health considerations we should be aware of, language needs, and a mobile number for the group leader or driver. We will confirm the meeting point and timings clearly in advance.
Can you help with ideas for a wider North Wales itinerary?
Yes! we are happy to suggest ways to combine a Conwy tour with other visits nearby, to help you build a balanced day or short break for your clients.
What happens if the weather is poor?
Our tours go ahead in most weather, so please make sure your group is dressed for being outdoors. If severe weather is forecast we will discuss options with you in advance and agree any changes to the plan
