Medieval Wall Walk

Conwy medieval  town walls are mostly complete. No wonder they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage site !

On our tour we will see these walls from every angle - and they photograph well. We will even walk on the wall-top of most of the circuit.  From this crow's nest vantage point the panorama of Snowdonia's mountains and the beautiful Conwy Estuary are superb - and that's without wonderful views of the huge castle.

You'll get the history -  I'm very good at picking up clues as to how much of this you can imbibe - everybody has a different information threshold!

We'll learn about the defensive structures of the gates, portcullises and watchtowers and how they were built without modern machinery.  We'll also talk about why they were built - how Wales was England's first colony and learn what the local population thought about that then and now .

We'll be able to look down on the rooftops and gardens of my fine little town and photograph the array of chimneys and birds nesting in any spare space.  Did you know a resident of Conwy is called a Jackdaw?

The tour lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and cost £150 for groups up to 20
