Essence of Conwy - Private Tour Castle & Town

We'll meet outside the Tourist Information Centre where we can get to know each other and then we'll walk on a short section of the town walls (those who are worried about heights will be given alternatives) before enjoying the spectacle of this magnificent UNESCO world heritage site building where you'll learn the historical background. Next we'll go in and explore it.  We'll wander around the defensive structures and learn what life was like living in such a castle.  We'll climb up a tower and walk along the wall walks. Those not wanting to do this will be advised where they can rejoin the tour). After about an hour in the castle we'll walk through the old walled town past the interesting churchyard and down to the quayside to see the oldest building in Conwy and the Smallest House in Great Britain.  The tour ends outside the fascinating Plas Mawr - one of the finest Elizabethan town houses in Britain. I recommend you book entry to this which includes an audio commentary.  Allow at least another hour for this visit.

Exclusive Tours The tour lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and cosst £175 for groups up to 20

The entrance to the castle involves climbing a steep ramp and then walking on rough ground.  To get on the walk wall involves a spiral staircase and walking above long drops - there are ropes and railings.
